Remember the first time you received a love note from a classmate of the opposite sex? Nervousness sets in, maybe even butterflies.
At some point of passing the love note around the classroom from desk to desk the most nerve-racking question was often asked…”Will you go out with me?” usually followed by the simple statement, “check yes or no”. With our hearts at a crossroads, we had to quickly decide how to answer such an important question.
As naïve as our letter passing might have been in those days, the idea of dating and relationships seem to be a lot more complicated then our minds could comprehend. With each year of school that passes, there is an increasing pressure on our students to be in relationships and to pursue “love”. What students see in movies, hear in songs, and experience in everyday life has created a distorted view about relationships, love, and redating.
Over the next several weeks we will be looking at God’s Word and taking a closer look at how having a healthy relationship with God will provide healthy relationships with others.
