Disciple: someone who is changed by Jesus (ENCOUNTER), walks with Jesus (EQUIP), and is sent by Jesus (ENGAGE).

Our Mission: Taylors FBC exists to make disciples as we encounter God, equip believers, and engage the world.

1. Life transformation begins through our submission to God’s design not ours.

Jeremiah 18:2-6

2. Life transformation is empowered by the Spirit.

2 Corinthians 3:16-18

3. Life transformation is patterned after the Word.

Romans 12:1-2

John 17:17

4. Life Transformation is sustained through prayer.

Prayer ties the first three things together.

5. Life transformation is practiced in community.

The average evangelical church in North America exists for itself. Churches are preoccupied with themselves. – Bill Hull

Bridges give life through two-way movement! Without its own bridges to the world, church life–in time–fades into isolation, self-congratulation, and finally, irrelevance. – Robert Lewis

Acts 1:4-11

1. The perspective changes from our self-centeredness to God’s heart and strategy.
2. The power comes from the Holy Spirit to transform us and point to the work of Jesus.
3. The plan calls for using everyday disciples of Jesus to fulfill a global, eternal vision.

1. Jesus invites people to be his disciples in order to disciple others.
2. Jesus produces disciple-makers from every walk of life.

Acts 4:13

Ephesians 4:11-13

3. Disciple-makers set their eyes on people whom God can transform and use.
4. Disciple-makers open the Word and their lives to lead others.

We equate discipleship with religious knowledge. – Ed Stetzer

If you’ve only studied the Bible for history, for ammunition or for a rulebook for life, go back, throw on lenses of faith & hunt down Jesus. – Beth Moore

Christian beliefs aren’t to be stacked in the mind’s warehouse; they’re to be applied to life and discipleship. – D. A. Carson

Jesus ministry was intentionally restricted to Israel for three years. The twelve disciples would take the message to the ends of the earth.
