She, a single mom who had lost custody of her child because of drugs, was in CR and was held captive by a rapist and triple murderer for 7 hours. Refuge Sports

Posted on Nov 24 at 04:19pm

Volunteers Needed Friday, November 26, and Saturday, November 27, in Atlanta among Bhutanese Refugees

From Mike and Julie Lee…
We are excited about Thanksgiving weekend plans for a big ministry opportunity to engage with Bhutanese churches from all over the country. On Friday and Saturday in Atlanta at a national soccer tournament organized by the Bhutanese Nepalese Churches of America, eighteen teams will be traveling from the following states: NY, OH, PA, FL, GA, PA, MA, MO, TN, NC, TX, and WA! Refuge Sports will be providing first-aid and ice for injuries. Call Julie at 864-270-9923 if you can help.

Refuge Sports will have a tent at the tournament. We will be giving away water and treats. Visitors to our tent can make a “story bracelet,” hear God’s Story, and practice telling God’s Story. The Bhutanese churches can use this in their communities. We will also have opportunity to share the Gospel with unbelievers attending the tournament.

The tournament teams will all have a chance to win soccer balls with the salvation story colors. We will be giving away the balls through a “social media challenge” – the goal of which is to get Refuge Sports publicity and make contacts in the Bhutanese community all over the US. Mike will be “tweeting” commentary on the tournament games. We will be posting pictures on Instagram, and uploading photos and comments on Facebook. We could use a few social media savy volunteers and people to help take photos and/or video clips.

Please spread the word and pray for God to bless and use our Thanksgiving Weekend activities. God’s kindness and richest blessings on you all as you enjoy this holiday to thank Him for His goodness.
