About Taylors Children

Environment

We are intentional about creating environments that are safe, age appropriate, and fun!

Encounter

We partner with parents in the discipleship process to help their children encounter God through teaching, worship, and life group activities.

Equip

We equip and encourage parents as the primary disciple-makers to clearly point their child to who God is and what Jesus has done for them.

Engage

We engage the community around us in order to proclaim Jesus.

Meet the Taylors Children Team

Got Questions? We have answers!

How do I check my child in?

We have a Welcome Team at the desk in preschool and in elementary who are happy to serve you. Someone from our Welcome Team will gather basic information from you about your child. Please click here to save you some time and send us the information before your visit.

What if my child needs me during the service?

We will contact parents via text message.

How do I know which class my child will be in?

We follow the same schedule as the South Carolina school system. September 1 is the cutoff for each grade level. (e.g. – a current 4-year-old who turns 5 on September 12 will be in K4 for the fall of 2019.)

What are the prerequisites for becoming a volunteer with children?

All of our volunteers go through a background check and must be an active member of Taylors FBC. We also reach out to references listed on the volunteer application.

What version of the Bible should my child use?

We do not have a preference on this but our curriculum uses the NIV & NIRV.

My child is asking about Salvation and/or Baptism?

We encourage you and your child to meet with our Minister of Children to discuss their profession of faith in Jesus and the next step of baptism.

My child has allergies. How do I alert your team?

As you complete the guest form with our Welcome Team, you can notify us about any allergies. The allergies will be printed on the child’s security badge. Our volunteers are required to get permission from our team before introducing any snacks to the children.

What if there is an emergency and we are evacuated from the building? Where will my child go?

Our volunteers are trained to handle evacuations and have been informed of the proper protocols to follow. Your child’s volunteers will escort your child to their appropriate safety area. Do not pick-up your child if there is a building evacuation.

What opportunities do you have for my child with special needs?

Our goal is to have a “buddy” accompany each child with special needs. We have a sensory room in case the small or large group environment becomes overwhelming. We will be launching a curriculum in the fall, adjusted to better accommodate children with special needs.

When does my child move to the elementary area?

K5 is considered preschool at Taylors Children. Current K5 students will move to 1st grade at the end of August in 2019.
