Director of Kindergarten

Taylors First Baptist Church is seeking a Christ-centered Director of Kindergarten to lead Taylors First Pre-Academy. This role provides leadership, operational oversight, and spiritual guidance within our early weekday education ministry.

The Director is responsible for daily operations, staff development, and fostering a nurturing, academically strong, and faith-based learning environment. This position partners closely with families to support each child’s spiritual, physical, intellectual, and relational growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all aspects of the weekday education ministry
• Supervise, support, and develop staff
• Foster a Christ-centered, academically strong learning environment
• Manage enrollment, records, and parent communication
• Oversee budget, supplies, and facilities
• Ensure compliance with SC DSS and DHEC regulations

Qualifications

Required:

• Meets South Carolina DSS Director qualifications and is eligible for a background check
• Demonstrated leadership experience in a preschool, childcare, or school setting

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, or a related field; master's degree strongly preferred
• Teaching certification or equivalent credential; active South Carolina Professional Educator Certificate preferred
• Minimum of three years of PreK–8 teaching experience
• Completion of an approved advanced leadership program
• Experience or credentials in a faith-based educational setting, with the ability to integrate faith into learning

Position Details

• Full-time (35 hours per week)
• Schedule: 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM (mid-August through mid-May)
• Reduced summer schedule (half days)
• 46-week position
