One of the simplest ways to begin a spiritual conversation with someone is to ask them if you can briefly share with them the story of how your life was radically transformed. If they are open to hearing your story, share the 3-minute version of your personal salvation testimony with them. The diagram to the right serves as an outline for crafting your personal salvation testimony.

Your testimony should be shared in three points through three or four sentences each:

  • Describe what your life was like before you came to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior.
  • Describe the circumstances surrounding how you heard and believed the news of Jesus death & resurrection, and how you repented of sin and began to follow Jesus.
  • Describe the impact that Christ has made on your life, highlighting what’s different about you since you repented and believed the Gospel. Keep in mind that your goal is to be able to share your testimony in three minutes or less.

After sharing your personal testimony, you could say something like, “I am so very thankful for the peace, hope and joy that Christ has brought into my life. Is this something that you have experienced?  Would you be open to hearing more about a personal relationship with Christ.”  If so, move right into sharing the Gospel with them.
