Summary
King Solomon was led to worship other gods, despite God’s warnings. God told Solomon He would divide the kingdom, leaving only a portion for his family because of the promise He made to David. Solomon’s son, Rehoboam, ignored wise counsel and made the people’s burdens heavier, leading to rebellion and the division of Israel. God promised a future King who would unite His people.
