Summary
After Saul was rejected as king of Israel, God sent Samuel to Bethlehem, to the house of Jesse, to anoint one of his sons. Seven of Jesse’s sons passed before Samuel, but God said no to each of them. Jesse brought in David, his youngest son. God told Samuel that David was the next king of Israel.
