This month we celebrate an adoption story within our Taylors First Baptist Church family! Read below and celebrate with us as we praise the Lord for His testimony of provision and grace.

“In 2022 we embarked on a journey known as foster care. We knew that God had been calling our family for several years and once we moved and He gave us a home large enough, we said yes. We had one placement that lasted
6 months and those children were able to reunify. We gave ourselves a month to regroup and make sure we were ready for a new placement.

In September of 2022, two little girls ages 5-years-old and 6 months came to our home. Lilly was a sweet but scared little girl who loved to play and took comfort close by our sides. Layla was a baby who was healing from a broken arm and didn’t smile much. We knew after a year of praying and helping the biological family work towards reunification, that God was calling to us to more; to advocate for the best interest of the girls. We are so thankful that Lilly and Layla were able to officially claim our last name as their own on October 15, 2025.

Today, Lilly has grown into a confident young lady who still loves to play and is especially fond of art! Layla is a happy little girl full of energy. Both have stolen the hearts of not only Wes and I, but our other four children as well. We have been so blessed and thankful to our friends, family and those of you at Taylors FBC who have poured so much into our family.” — Wes & Tania Henderson
