Here is a short story of how God put a lady who was hungry for the gospel right next to a Journeyman in South Asia on the train! When we hear “God stories,” we often hear about believers who were looking for people with whom to share. Sometimes, though, God puts people right in front of us!
I was exhausted, heading home on a train after a long trip and burying my nose in a book. A lady named Molly* came and sat down right next to me. I was instantly convicted to speak to her, but I did not feel “in the mood.” My solution was to pray and, if there was no further conviction, I was off the hook. “Lord, if you want me to talk to this lady, give me a sign or something to show me that I should talk to her.” Not a second went by before the Lord responded, “What more of a sign should I give than to put her right next to you?” Surprised to hear such a fast response from Him, I simply started the conversation by asking where she was going. By the power of the Holy Spirit, I noticed my testimony flowing out of my mouth. I told Molly about how I went through depression in high school, but then the Lord miraculously brought me out of it. I looked over and saw that she had started tearing up. She told me that she was heading to her in-law’s house to break off their relationship. Her husband had been unfaithful for many years. How crazy is this, that the Lord brought her right before me? Out of all the seats on the train, the Lord put her right next to me. We ended up talking for two hours until she had to leave. I shared the gospel with her and gave her my Bible. She was a very devout Sikh lady, but the Lord softened her heart to learn about the gospel! I was able to follow up with her and introduce her to a couple of believers, though she was not yet ready to accept the Truth. Pray for Molly, that she will come to understand that Jesus is THE Way, the Truth, and the Life!
Who has God put in your life? Take every opportunity you can to share the message of Christ with those He puts and your path! One conversation could change everything.
