Giving Closet

Much of the mission of Mission 1:27 actually can be found in Matthew 25:35-40. We feed the foster children at the Department of Social Services awaiting placement under the umbrella of Mission 1:27 and provide clothing to  foster and adoptive children, and children in our community through the Giving Closet. We strive to meet the basic needs of those the Lord has placed around us, and those the Lord has called to foster and adopt. We are able to that because the church body of Taylors FBC gives generously of their time and treasures to ensure food and meals can always be bought and the Giving Closet is always filled to provide for those in need.

In doing so, we see many people and families benefit from the Giving Closet, from foster parents, who not just accept special needs babies and young infants but willingly ask for them, to single parent homes that are trying to care well for their children but need an extra hand. We see many families that go above and beyond to take care of the “least of these” around them. We try to come alongside them by providing diapers, wipes, clothing, cribs, and any other essentials you can think of that you would need to care for a little baby. Most importantly, we assure these foster parents they are surrounded by prayer not only from those of us who have the privilege to meet them face-to-face, but from those who donate items and money to this ministry.

Thanks to a large network of Taylors FBC families involved in foster and adoption, we have connections with schools, churches, and other organizations in the area. Some of our other Love Taylors Partners like Brook Glenn Elementary benefit from our Giving Closet, or partners like the Eastside YMCA, help keep the Giving Closet stocked to share with our community.

We pray you are able to see the incredible impact of this ministry and would love for you to consider joining us as we care for those the Lord has placed around us. New and gently used items from the list below can be donated in the Giving Closet bins off the Welcome Center, or at the church office throughout the week.
