UUPG, or Unengaged Unreached People Group, refers to groups of people across the globe where the population of Evangelicals is 0%. This means UUPG communities have no believers, no churches, and no missionaries to share the Gospel with them.

Without Bible translations in most of these peoples’ languages, there is a language barrier preventing missionaries from sharing the Good News. Currently, the IMB estimates there are approximately 3,000 UUPGs globally. In essence, this makes up around 290 million lost individuals.

In John 10:14-16, Jesus says, “I am the good shepherd; I know My sheep and My sheep know Me – just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father – and I lay down My life for the sheep. I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to My voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd.”

The words of Jesus clearly reveal why we as believers should be moved to reach out to these Unengaged Unreached People Groups. Christ died for the sins of everyone because of His unconditional love to extend His saving grace to all. Jesus desires to bring these lost sheep into the folds of His flock!

Throughout Scripture, prayer is emphasized as a powerful and foundational tool for faith. Therefore, we should feel compelled to pray for these UUPGs as we seek to bring them into Jesus’ flock.

One UUPG we can begin praying for is the Hindu Dasari, numbering around 258,00. These lost people live throughout regions of India known as the Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.

Specifically, prayers for the Lord to move among the Dasai as He sends spiritual shepherds to this unreached people group. Eventually, we hope the Dasari, whose name translates to ‘servant of god,’ would one day come to serve the One True God.

Please come alongside us as we pray that God would reveal Himself to the remaining UUPGs and move among these people groups!

We invite you to join us in this mission during our UUPG Prayer Meeting on the first Sunday of every month in the Chapel at 9:15 or 11:00 am!
